Playing Along

I've been tagged by Brandon for this "5 Things You May Not Know About Me" meme that's going around. Well...

1) I played the Clarinet from 4th grade through 8th grade, then the Trombone (and later Bass Trombone) from 9th grade through senior year of college.

2) I've been publishing stuff on the web since around the time Marc Andreessen's Mosaic came out, and now I'm lucky enough to work at a new company he co-founded.

3) I once interviewed Burt Reynolds in his hotel room.

4) My first car was a "talking" (this horrible voice chip that told you that "a door is ajar" and such) early-'80s station wagon with wood paneling.

5) I once went to see Freddy vs. Jason in a Vancouver theater with Rod, but was so drunk that I don't know if Freddy or Jason won the battle.

Let's tag Sarah, Dave, Alison, Britt and Adrienne.

YouTube TV

Of all the ways I've used to play web video content on my TV (direct connection, converted clips played via a TV-connected iPod, God knows what else), nothing feels as natural as using the new Wii browser. The motion-sensitive controller feels just like a mouse, and text entry is surprisingly fast thanks to the interface's oversized buttons (especially since browsing YouTube typically only requires you to enter short search terms). I spent a good hour last night just YouTube-ing it up from the couch. Very cool stuff.

Posting this from the Wii browser. Sweet.

The Sun'll Come Out...

What better way to celebrate Christmas Eve than by watching showbiz mom cattiness? Life After Tomorrow (a documentary that we did the official site for a while ago) debuts on Showtime this Sunday.

Favorite Lines

What's your all-time favorite song lyric line? Owen and Stewart's recent obsession with saying "David Bowie" reminded me of mine (from "Suffragette City"):

"Hey man, I gotta straighten my face. This mellow-thighed chick just put my spine outta place."

Audio's Back

Interesting development: I've been ditching my video podcast subscriptions in favor of the audio-only versions. I think it's because I don't have time (or interest) to sit down and watch podcast content, but I'll totally listen to it while driving or walking the dog. Nothing mindblowing here, just an interesting video vs. audio attention thing. That is all.

For the Record

JibJab's material sucks (and always has). It's the online equivalent of Yes, Dear.

Quick and Dirty

If my blogging has been a bit sporadic lately, it's because a lot of the action's been going on over at my Twitter page. It's ADD-rific!
