My B-day: Y! Style

My B-day: Y! Style

Oh, and...

I'm 27 today. 27 with two kids is the Los Angeles equivalent of 48. Yikes. Birthday wishes to The Briznitt as well.

Comeback Kid

In a strange twist of fate, is Yahoo the new Google? Find out, dear reader!

Spicing Things Up

I decided that things weren't confusing enough, so I'm now going to be blogging on this main blog, adding to my link blog and posting to my new Y! 360 blog. Chaos! If you use a feedreader (and if you don't, I hope you're enjoying all that the Amish lifestyle has to offer), you can now subscribe to my main feed here, my link blog feed here and my 360 feed here. Congrats if you've made it this far.

Misnomer

The official title is Yoshi Touch & Go, though they may as well just come clean and call it Cocaine.

Get Ready to Mingle

So Yahoo 360 (aka "Project Mingle") has finally launched. We've been playing with it internally for a while, and I've definitely become a fan. My page is here. I'll be firing off invites to friends/family later today. Brace yourself.

Clean as a Whistle

It doesn't get much better than this.

My favorite part is from the second review:

"I've tried many anal douche products in the past, and this one is by far the most unreliable."

God bless you, glassdog.

Reborn

From the always-cool Matt Haughey:

"I used to think of Yahoo as the CBS of search engines -- it's the search engine your grandma probably uses to find Murder She Wrote episode guides. But in the past few months they've really turned it around. My Yahoo continues to impress, they picked up Flickr, and now Creative Commons search is baked in. This is not your father's search engine anymore."

Steeeeeeeeve!

As I was heading to a doctor appt. this morning, I had to walk in front of a massive SUV. Rather than stopping for me, the driver just kept slowly creeping forward. Staring into space. Immersed in their own dream world. I passed by quickly, then had a "wait a minute..." moment and looked back. Yeah, just as I'd suspected. Fucking Ian Ziering. I love this town.

Y! on the Move

Between the Flickr acquisition and the 360 announcement, things at work are starting to get really interesting.

Blinded by the Light

This photo is incredible in so many ways:

1) The Sopranos/Joey chick is dating THAT guy.

2) His name is Shooter Jennings.

3) Shooter Jennings!

4) They're "mingling" with...wait for it...Chris Kattan.

5) They're at a FASHION SHOW TO CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF THE PSP. Is it just a room of Gran Turismo junkies salivating over a hottie wearing nothing but strategically-placed PSP units?

Mark Your Calendars

I'm going to quit drinking after my birthday on the 31st (for both health and example-setting reasons). Ironically, this means that my journey begins on April 1st. Lovely.

The Big One Oh

Wired has a great article on Yahoo's tenth anniversary. So...read it.
